Hurricane Sandy

Hello Dear Readers,

Just a quick post. We survived the hurricane pretty much intact. No damage to our condo, thankfully. As of right now, I still have no heat or power. Trees, gas station roofs, power lines... mostly down in the streets, but luckily the flood waters are carrying them away. ::sigh:: Not sure when we'll have power back. Last year when Irene hit it took up to a week for all the power to be returned. I had to drive around for an hour just to get a half charge on my Droid (I refuse the iMovement) to do this update.

I feel bad about not updating my blog as usual, but not that bad. I think Hurricane drowning the East Coast is a pretty legit excuse.

Now I just have to survive Hurricane Doc&Monroe and I'll be good. Fell asleep on the couch last night to avoid that incoming storm =(

I'll try to keep up with some smaller updates when I can. Bare with me while all our lives come back on line. Slowly, slowly, but they surely will.

Love,
Haven

EDIT:

Here's a pic of one of my absolute favorite venues in Brooklyn. That railing is the 2nd floor balcony. There's over 5ft. of water inside.  =(

  3. Didn't lose power once here. Some flooding and wind damage, though. But we almost never lose power unless a tree goes down and knocks something out. Then we will lose it for 2-3 hours tops. Glad I live in consistentpowertopia.

    I love hurricanes.

    1. You're lucky.

I love the storm part, I don't love the everything else part. Irene wasn't even technically a hurricane last year and we lost all power and heat for days.
